Get help making your payments on time
There are a lot of responsibilities to manage when you’re living on, and energy costs such as your gas bill, or your electric bill can place stress on your budget and your peace of mind. If you miss a payment your service may be shut off. But, there’s help for you when you need it.
If you’re struggling to pay your utility bills, you may qualify for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). LIHEAP helps eligible households pay for the home energy services they receive (primarily heating during winter months).
The easiest thing to do is to go to the Illinois.gov page for applying for Utility Bill Assistance. That should have all of the information you need, but you can also call the LIHEAP Hotline at 1-877-411-WARM (9276) to talk with an advisor or to ask specific questions.
