Prioritize Your Well-Being

Most college campuses will have a wellness center but the level of resources available varies. As a student you may have access to comprehensive medical care, counseling and psychiatric services, and to health promotion services. In order to use these resources you may need access to health insurance. Some schools have an option for full time students to heath insurance.

Your Campus Wellness Center May Offer

  • Alcohol and Other Drugs Prevention
  • Allergy Injections
  • Contraception Consultations
  • Eating Concerns Support and Assessment
  • Flu Vaccines
  • Gynecological Services
  • Immunizations
  • Laboratory Testing
  • Physical Therapy
  • Prescriptions and Prescription Refills
  • Psychiatric Consultations
  • Referrals to Other Medical Specialists
  • Services for LGBTQ+ Students
  • Short-Term or Long-Term Counseling
  • Sexually Transmitted Infection Testing
  • Sports Medicine
  • Student Recovery Group
  • Travel Consultations

It is important when making a decision about your college education that you take into consideration what health services are available on campus because life happens! Not all schools will offer comprehensive services. Some instead offer a list of local resources such as free health centers in the area, or information about what to do if you don’t have access to health insurance.
