Illinois Discounted Computers

Affordable internet access and low-cost computers for those who need them

Power up!

Do you need a computer for school or work, or internet access in your house? PCs for People is here to help you. Their goal is to get low-cost computers and affordable broadband internet into the homes of low-income individuals who need the support.

Who is qualified?

To be eligible, you meet household income requirements OR be enrolled in an income-based government assistance program, such as SNAP, Medicaid or Federal Housing Assistance. For a full list of these programs, or to apply for that kind of aid, check out the federal government’s benefits page.

If you are interested in applying for support, take time to learn more about proof of income and participation requirements to make sure you are eligible.

You also need a photo ID. The following are acceptable photo IDs:

  • driver’s license or state ID card
  • passport
  • veteran or student ID card
  • a work-issued ID

You do not need to provide proof of citizenship.

How does it work?

After qualifying, order a computer, laptop, or internet hotspot online, shop in their store at 100 Florida Ave., Belleville, IL 62221, go to an upcoming in-person event, or visit a device pickup location.  View a list of pick-up locations »

Need internet too?

You may qualify for contract-free internet services at $15 a month or even completely free. Learn more about their Affordable Connectivity Program»
