Using the Career Advising Office

Find the people on-campus who can help you reach the career of your dreams!

What is a Career Advising Office?

The Career Advising Office is a great on-campus resource you can use to look for jobs in the community, research career pathways that interest you, or talk with Career Advisors who can help you prepare and plan for the career you are pursuing.

How do I use the Career Advising Office?

The Career Advising Office at your campus will have typical hours, usually 9am – 5pm where you are able to walk in and view their resources, talk to the staff or make an appointment with an advisor. Remember, this Office exists to help you and the advisors who are there, and the resources they have, are there for you. So don’t be afraid to walk in, say hello, and ask a staff member to show you how the Career Advising Office supports its students.

When in my college journey should I visit the Career Advising Office?

It’s natural to think that the Career Advising Office is only for 3rd and 4th year students who are nearing graduation, but that is false! It is never too early to visit your campus’s Career Advising Office and make an appointment to speak with an Advisor. They can help you research and better understand the career you are considering, and if you end up deciding to change your career ambitions, they can also help you think through that and make the best choice for yourself.

How do I prepare to meet with a Career Advisor?
