Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP) is a support program at CUNY designed to help students succeed academically, financially, and personally. You must be a current student or applying to one of the CUNY colleges that offer ASAP in order to apply for the program.

Financial Resources:

  • Tuition and fee gap scholarships for students with financial aid gaps
  • Textbook stipends
  • Unlimited-ride New York City Transit OMNY Cards

  • Personalized academic advisement
  • Tutoring services
  • Career development support
  • Early engagement initiatives to build a connected student community

CUNY’s College Discovery (CD) Program is a two-year opportunity program offered at six community colleges. CD supports students to develop essential skills for academic success and personal growth. Participants are provided with financial assistance, personalized academic guidance, and counseling services. Students must indicate interest in the program on their CUNY application when applying to their selected college.

  • Access to academic support, tutoring, and workshops designed to enhance academic performance
  • Personalized counseling throughout their college journey.
  • A clear path for students to move from an associate’s degree to a bachelor’s degree, preparing them for future success.

Eligibility:

  • Legal resident of New York City for at least one year prior to entering college
  • High school graduate or recipient of a state-approved equivalency diploma
  • Have a college admissions average of less than 80
  • A first-year student; and
  • Have a gross family income that meets the New York State guidelines.
