Future Ready Scholarship at City Colleges of Chicago

There’s a scholarship at CCC that can pay what your financial aid doesn't cover

What is it?

Future Ready City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) is a last-dollar scholarship for students pursuing credit programs. Students apply for financial aid and Future Ready makes up any difference in tuition cost.

Who is Eligible?

You are eligible if you are a Chicago resident who is

A new student of City Colleges, having only taken adult education or Continuing Education courses

OR

A returning student to City Colleges, who left in good standing and has been away for at least 2 spring/fall semesters, and reapplied to City Colleges

Students with undocumented status are eligible to apply for Future Ready.

What to know about Future Ready:

  • You must complete your program in 150% time. For example, if you apply to a two-year program, you must complete it within three years. If you go beyond that time period, classes are no longer free through Future Ready.
  • Future Ready only covers required courses that are on your program plan. Talk to an advisor if you are unsure whether a class will count towards Future Ready.
  • You can only use Future Ready funds to pay for one college degree. For example, if you apply to a 2-year Associate’s degree program, complete it and decide to continue on to a 4-year Bachelor’s degree program, Future Ready will only cover your Associate’s degree.
  • If you have prior debt to City Colleges, look into whether you qualify for the City Colleges Fresh Start program. It allows students who left in good standing over the last decade to return to school and “learn off” their debt.
